Soundex code (phonetic indexes) for Federal North Dakota census records are available on microfilm for census years: 1880, 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930. When researching Archdale, Bath, Beaufort and Craven Counties, study all 4 as these areas changed names several times during the very early years.
